Palestinian Convenience Trumps Jewish Life & Limbs

If you needed further proof of the irrelevancy of the UN you got it yesterday when the UN General Assembly voted 150 to 6 (with 10 abstentions) to adopt resolution #999999999999 against Israel. Only 6 nations voted against the resolution. So now, it is official. The UN does not acknowledge the right of Israel to defend its citizens from terrorist attacks.  Palestinian convenience trumps Jewish life and limbs.

France guided the way for the European Union.  And President Chirac is outraged by the remarks made earlier this week by Israeli Prime Minister Sharon who called upon France Jews to leave France immediately for their safety and come to Israel.

The United States, Australia, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau and Israel voted against the resolution calling for Israel's compliance with the ICJ ruling that demands Israel tear down the life saving barrier, and if that wasn’t bad enough, to pay compensation to the Palestinians who have been inconvenienced by the route of the barrier.

Canada, the leader in soft diplomacy and major fence sitter decided to play the role of the honest broker leading 9 other nations in abstaining from voting. Moral clarity must not be part of the ethos of multi-culturalism.
