A Night at the Ballet 2

It was pointed out to me in an email that the Canadian Ballet Theatre’s production of the Nutcracker on December 16th and 17th at Toronto’s Winter Garden Theatre will be featuring; Veronika Part, current soloist with American Ballet Theatre and formerly a soloist with the Kirov Ballet, as well as Marianna Ryzhina, principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet; and Yan Godovsky, a leading soloist with Bolshoi.

I think I can stand to risk one more quasi-student production. It's not often that the Bolshoi dancers come to town. Besides it will be interesting to see how the students of the Canadian Ballet Theatre stack up against the National Ballet School. Think of it as a showdown between the English/Italian schools verus the Russian team. One never knows, but that new building on Jarvis for the National Ballet school may just come to naught much ado at all.
