How about that Gun Registry!

Taken from the Toronto Star today:
A 12-year-old is among nearly a dozen people arrested in the past four days in connection with gun crimes across the city, police said today. The youngster and a 15-year-old acquaintance, along with two adults, stand accused of robbing a man of his jacket and cellphone at gunpoint in the Jane/Finch area. Overall, ten suspects have been charged as part of the continuing crackdown on guns and gangs, officials say. Eight of those arrested had existing firearms restrictions imposed upon them.

Imagine how much safer we are today because the Federal Liberal government had the foresight to establish a Gun Registry and what an asskicker its’ turned out to be! Don’t shed too many tears over the 12 year old. There will be an army of social workers and lawyers ready to plead his case and he’ll be bailed out before the first day of school - if not by the end of the week. No doubt he'll be ready to return to his elementary school without missing a single day. Though I can't help speculating who will be able to protect his peers from the likes of him.

Nothing will save his peers from him; certainly not the registry! And the fact that 8 out of 10 had existing restrictions means...exactly... what? in terms of your or my safety?

I know, I know, preaching to the converted.
