Red Ensign Moment

I heard from the Last Amazon. Now the Last Amazon has always been very obsessive about order and cleanliness. As a small child she refused to let her brothers play in her room, and when she had friends over they played in her brother’s rooms. She commented that the command at the CFB station where she is presently located is even more anal than her and she has spent a vast amount of time in cleaning.

This in turn reminded me of a chorus of a song that my grandfather learned when he was serving with the Fighting 26th Battalion circa 1914-1918.

We are in the army now,

We are not behind the plow,

Son of a bitch, we are digging a ditch,

We are in the army now.
