One of my pet peeves of shopping is that at certain stores there never seems to be enough sales/cashier people which is one of the reasons why I rarely go to stores like Wal-mart. I like Wal-mart and overall I think that they offer a decent selection of products for a reasonable price but I positively loathe standing in line at the cash register for longer than 10 minutes. My time is valuable and waiting beyond 10 minutes means that any savings I make on purchasing products at Wal-mart has to be balanced by the cost/loss of my time.
So to read a story like this in the Toronto Star about Quebec labour laws limiting the number of employees a store can employ on-the-job during the so-called off hours and my skin crawls.
