Doing the Right Thing

I am often highly critical of the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs but every once in a while the Foreign Affairs Ministry does the right thing. From the Globe and Mail:
The 44 North Koreans who were holed up at the Canadian Embassy in Beijing have been released and taken to a safe third country, Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.
A spokesman for Foreign Minister Pierre Pettigrew confirmed the release.
"Mr. Pettigrew has confirmed the transfer of all 44 people from the Canadian Embassy," Sebastien Theberge said.
Today, I can feel better about being a Canadian.
