In the heart of a Patriette:

The Patriette defines the mission:
Under Saddam Hussein, hundred of thousands of Iraqis were killed and tortured. The signs of his brutal regime are being uncovered by our soldiers on a daily basis. There were torture chambers, slaughterhouses, and mass graves. Yes - the war has been difficult, but nothing on the scale of what the brutal dictator Saddam Hussein inflicted on his own people.

The Spirit of America is an effort to build hope and goodwill towards our country among the people of Iraq, to show them that we are not the imperialist thugs that parts of Europe would have them believe. America does not want Iraq as its 51st state - we want a free Iraq, a country without tyranny, free from fear. America wants an Iraq that is self-sufficient and able to work through the struggles of being a country coming out from under a dictatorship. It happened in Japan. It hap in Germany. Iraq can rise again as well.

In addition to helping the people of Iraq, donating to the Spirit of America is also a way to help our troops. The Spirit of America is a slap in the face to those terrorist insurgents who seek to undermine the will of the Iraqi people. By enabling Iraq to rebuild, educate its children, train its people, and foster improved relations between ourselves and Iraq,
