RAMALLAH, June 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian chief of Environment Authority Yousef Abu Safeya accused Israel Monday of glutting the Palestinian markets with carcinogenic canned juice.
"Such kind of drinks are specifically produced for the Palestinian consumers in the Gaza Strip." Abu Safeya told a weekly session of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC). He pointed out that the Palestinian security services had recently seized a number of shipments, including canned juice containing a carcinogenic substance.
He added that the Egyptian authorities impounded two Israeli trucks carrying child toys polluted with carcinogenic and radioactive substances at the Rafah commercial crossing on the borders with Israel in March.
Xinhaunet may have a higher circulation with their captive audience than Newsweek has but I seriously doubt the editors of Newsweek have cause to worry yet.

Given the Koran-in-the-toilet story, I'm not sure Newsweek is the best example for what you're trying to say.
I chose Newsweek deliberately - call it my warped sense of humour. I suspect Xinhuanet is aspiring to replace Newsweek as the magazine of record for delusionary content and no doubt Xinhuanet editors were looking on with envy at Newsweek's ability to create mass choas and mayhem with the whole Koran in a toilet story.
Well, almost everything (indirectly, even water) is carcinogenic. And from carbon [or less] up in atomic weight, radioactive. So in a way the environment guy is right. He is also an ignorant Luddite-like fool.
