Of course if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck or quacks like a duck it could still be a dog – abet a highly unlike one. But if there is one constant in life I have learned - it is this - an Ass is always an Ass – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Mea culpa. I should have realized that synagogues hire on/off-duty police officers with their police cars and uniforms to act as overpaid parking attendants. Like doesn’t every religious group in Canada do it? Why, I bet the United Church will be hiring at least a whole police division to run their church parking lots across the city on their high holy days.
Furthermore, the alleged hiring of city police at Jewish religious institutions has absolutely nothing to do with the firebombing of Jewish schools or synagogues, the torching of synagogues, the vandalism or bomb/death threats issued against the various Jewish communities across Canada in the last five years.
Absolutely nothing. I take it back.
